A rarely surfed left peels across a Japanese rivermouth. This wave was spawned by Typhoon Kilo a tropical storm which crossed the dateline traveling over 4000 miles in the previous three weeks. Kilo is the longest lived storm this season but didn’t quite match Hurricane John, which lasted for 30 days in 1994.
