Surf conditions at 7.40 a.m. on New Year's Eve 2012:
It's all looking good, the wind has slipped more directly offshore this morning, allowing more of those 'tuck and run' barrel opportunities!
The surf is a bit smaller than it has been but there are still some chunky enough sets getting through every now and again.
That is just an hour or two following high tide and so I'm guessing that it is likely to drop in size with the tide. But this afternoon's incoming tide should help to push up the size a little again.
So on a gloomy, windswept and wet New Year's Eve you should be able to get a few little barrels (if you manage to avoid those inevitable closey outty ones!) to remember this year by!
Have a very happy and peaceful new year!
