Surf conditions at 7.35 a.m. on Thursday 17th October 2013:
It's a brighter, lighter morning with a gentle westerly wind breezing across the bay, onshore but not affecting the smaller than expected surf too badly.
There's four feet or so of still lined up surf, that wind being light so far even if it is onshore.
Some bigger waves might be coming through on the sets maybe, it's difficult to tell but it just looks about four feet generally.
With the sun shining, the water being so warm and those waves pumping in, it is looking like a good day of surfing ahead!
The Rip Curl Pro is up and running down in Peniche, Portugal with some hefty peaks slapping that sand and the organisers looking to finish up today maybe. Follow the action at live.ripcurl.com/portugal-live-webcast.html
