Surf conditions at 6.45 a.m. on Friday 20th September 2013:
A heavily overcast but calm morning is stretching over the coast this morning, the wind still onshore but light enough to allow high tide Constantine to throw a few four foot peaks about the place.
The twinkling lights of a slowly drifting fishing boat are rhythmically rising and dropping with the swell, that breeze probably strong enough to make for a bumpy discomfort for those onboard but not strong enough to blow this cloud cover away in any hurry.
The breeze is forecast to ease off even more and the sky should brighten, at least a little but maybe not until this afternoon.
So, good things should be happening on this afternoon's tide with a fun session for all of us towards this evening's high tide.
The European Surfing Championships are running dow in the Azores and Ben Skinner has picked up his umpteenth Longboard title (eleventh?). Now he's heading on to the World Longboard Chamionships in peru with a real chance of doing better than well!
