INTRODUCING Alex Botelho’s No Edit 1: Views from the Throne a new series following the maxim of creating something engaging by telling the truth.

“No Edit is a name that we came up with to give an entity to the videos. I’m doing this together with two other friends, Marco Perini, and Sascha Debruin.” Says Alex “The idea started from filming surf and other things, and we wanted to put simple images together to form something entertaining. We’re not looking to make super modern clips, with fast images of high performance and effects, rather put raw images of waves from beginning to end, include wipeouts or screw ups, to show what the images really are, not to show just the best turns and make the images look better than they are in reality. Also add a theme or idea to each clip to make it more entertaining than another surf clip of somebody showing only their surf. The main thing we want to put the focus on, is on the idea of the video and keeping it raw and entertaining. This idea resumed is what I called No Edit.

“The plan is to create a clip whenever we have enough images to make one, and then follow to the next. We are letting our enthusiasm and what nature sends set the pace for the clips we make. But we’re aiming for one every three to four weeks. At the end of the year we want to put together the most interesting images we have and make a longer and final video. All the clips and ideas we make until then will set us up for that step.

“We’re doing this for the reason that we all enjoy our part in this and for the fun and pleasure of doing it. I also feel like its something I like to put my energy in and it’s nice to see a finished video that you went through the steps to complete. Surfing, filming, thinking of ideas, editing, and then see how people enjoy to watch what you created.”

Thanks, Alex
