Surfing Tropical Storm Dorian with Gorkin, JJ and Geiselman

JEREMY Johnston, Aaron “Gorkin” Cormican and Evan surfing Tropical Storm Dorian at New Smyrna. The storm eventually fell apart but sent Central Florida some fun rippable surf.

Dorian, what a let down he was. If ever there was a storm destined to raise the hopes of tired surf hacks desperate to play a little word association, it was he. And what a tease Dorian became, starting off a bit ropey before improving markedly; at one point promising a trip through the swell/hurricane goldilocks zone. As quickly as he intensified it all fell apart, he was a mere remnant low as he approached the Caribbean. Then heck, he intensified, regaining his name and status only to fall away again, torn apart by unfavourable winds. Unbelievably, blink-and-you-would-have-missed-it, he returned for a third time as an extra-tropical cyclone off North Carolina without making much impact.

Having returned more times than Jesus Christ we thank the Lord someone surfed it.
