This gnarly beachbreak was a tricky maelstrom of chance rewarding more often than not the conservative approach. The entertainment factor of watching one move hefty closeouts followed by 10 minutes of paddling (often via the beach to replace a shattered stick) is only tempered by memories of the intricate potential possibilities if these guys were to be allowed a template like that of Lowers.
The good news is there is plenty of swell on tap. The forecast predicts a dropping swell today which will be welcomed by competitors before another solid episode on Thursday and Friday which will shift things back into the overhead range.
