THE London Surf / Film Festival is proud to welcome back Oakley as Associate Sponsors for the 2012 event.

“The London Surf / Film Festival is an International showcase for the very best contemporary surf filmmaking, it’s about celebrating the cutting edge of surfing and surf culture while paying homage to its roots and rich heritage,” says Event Director Chris Nelson. “Oakley is an iconic brand and it has been a surfer’s staple for decades. They work with some of the most exciting waveriders on the planet from the likes of Adriano de Souza, Bruce Irons and Julian Wilson to British surfers like Oli Adams and Gwen Spurlock, so we’re stoked to have them on board, supporting the festival for a second year.”

11-14 October 2012, hosted at London’s iconic Riverside Studios, the London Surf / Film Festival brings to the capital four nights of surfing’s most anticipated releases, underground hits, independent features and UK premieres as well as the pick of short film productions from Britain and Ireland. ‘I’m incredibly excited about the line up this year,” says Chris Nelson. “The collection of films we’ve curated represents the very pinnacle of surf filmmaking on a global scale, delivering a full range of perspectives on waveriding from the hottest shred flicks to insightful documentaries. The quality of cinematography is stunning, the sound tracks epic while the surfing pushes things to a whole new level. I seriously can not wait to see them played out on the big screen.” Fusing together film, art, music photography and commentary from waveriding’s most exciting creative’s, this is the must attend event for purveyors of the glide. Tickets go on sale this month and full programme details can be found on the website www.londonsurffilmfestival.com

“Oakley are proud to be part of the LS/FF for the 2nd year,” says Oakley UK PR Manager David Spires. “We’ve worked hard to develop some of the best performing boardshorts over the past few years, but there’s no competition for getting back to the roots of surfing. Spending time with the most exciting film, art & photography talent from surf-culture will be amazing for our brand.”
